Propuesta de implementación de un programa de mentores estudiantiles para prevenir el acoso universitario

Resumen

El acoso en instituciones de educación superior afecta tanto a estudiantes como al personal académico. Sus consecuencias negativas se observan en diversas esferas de la vida, pero son marcadas por su impacto en la salud mental, el bienestar, el desempeño académico y la inclusión social. Este estudio presenta una propuesta de de programa de mentoría estudiantil como estrategia innovadora para prevenir y mitigar el acoso en este entorno, así como presenta los aspectos esenciales de diseño y aplicación piloto. El estudio contó con un diseño de investigación acción que combinó la revisión bibliográfica, las entrevistas a estudiantes, la observación y la encuesta para el diagnóstico inicial. Los hallazgos evidenciaron que los mentores estudiantiles fortalecen un entorno universitario seguro al fomentar relaciones interpersonales positivas, respeto mutuo y apoyo entre pares. Los factores clave identificados fueron la capacitación de los mentores y el respaldo institucional. Se concluye que el programa contribuye a prevenir el acoso, mejorar la calidad de vida universitaria, promueve el bienestar psicológico, así como aporta las bases para el desarrollo de una cultura de paz y convivencia positiva.
