About the Journal
Aim and Scope
Región Científica is a multidisciplinary, diamond open-access, peer-reviewed journal published biannually, dedicated to the publication of research in Social Sciences Applied to Sustainable Development. The journal integrates contributions from disciplines and fields such as education, economics, business, tourism, and public policy, with the purpose of generating innovative and transferable knowledge aimed at social transformation, comprehensive well-being, and balanced territorial development.
Within this framework, sustainable development is conceived as an applied interdisciplinary paradigm that allows for the analysis and intervention of social, economic, and territorial processes from multiple theoretical and methodological approaches. The journal recognizes the plurality of perspectives and knowledge as a fundamental element for addressing contemporary complexity and challenges, favoring empirical, comparative, and contextualized approaches to issues relevant to society.
Región Científica offers a highly rigorous academic space for researchers, professors, and professionals from different regions of the world interested in the theoretical and applied advancement of the social sciences. It promotes the internationalization of knowledge and dialogue between theory and practice, with special attention to research that provides valuable evidence for decision-making in educational, organizational, productive, and public policy settings. The journal publishes original articles, review articles, bibliometric studies, academic reflections, and case studies in Spanish and English, under a diamond open access model.

Periodicity, Dissemination, and Call for Papers
Región Científica is published biannually, with the first issue covering the period from January to June and the second issue from July to December; however, the Editorial Committee may decide to open special and/or thematic supplements. The journal has a continuous call for papers throughout the year and follows an open access model that helps to increase the visibility of published articles.
